March 2 is Teen Mental Wellness Day, an important reminder to focus on mental health as teens. Mental health is often overlooked, but it’s essential to overall well-being. It’s important to recognize that mental health issues affect not only adults but teens as well.
We face much pressure and stress daily, which can be tricky. That’s why it’s essential to prioritize our mental health and take the time to practice self-care. Self-care may look different for everyone, but here are some ideas to start:
• Take a break from social media- Don’t be afraid to step away from your phone and enjoy some time offline.
• Exercise- Exercise is a great way to clear your head and relieve stress.
• Talk to someone- Talk to a friend, family member, or therapist about your feelings.
• Get enough sleep: Ensure you get enough rest and do not stay up too late.
• Find a creative outlet: Find something you enjoy doing that helps you express yourself.
• Take some time for yourself: Make sure you’re taking some time to relax and do something that you enjoy.
On this Teen Mental Wellness Day, prioritize your mental health. Let’s take steps to practice self-care and make sure to do our best to look after our mental health.
